Banana Cream Pie - Hope to try baking one

I found this recipe from Allrecipe and hope to try to bake one soon.

INGREDIENTS

• 3/4 cup white sugar
• 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 2 cups milk
• 3 egg yolks, beaten
• 2 tablespoons butter
• 1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla extract
• 1 (9 inch) pie crust, baked
• 4 bananas, sliced

DIRECTIONS

1. In a saucepan, combine the sugar, flour, and salt. Add milk in gradually while stirring gently. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is bubbly. Keep stirring and cook for about 2 more minutes, and then remove from the burner.
2. Stir a small quantity of the hot mixture into the beaten egg yolks, and immediately add egg yolk mixture to the rest of the hot mixture. Cook for 2 more minutes; remember to keep stirring. Remove the mixture from the stove, and add butter and vanilla. Stir until the whole thing has a smooth consistency.
3. Slice bananas into the cooled baked pastry shell. Top with pudding mixture.
4. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 12 to 15 minutes. Chill for an hour.

Recepi for Banana Cream Pie Made easy

INGREDIENTS

• 3 cups heavy cream
• 1/2 cup crushed ice
• 1 (3.5 ounce) package instant banana pudding mix
• 1 (3.4 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
• 3 bananas, sliced
• 1 (9 inch) pie shell, baked
• 1 cup heavy cream

DIRECTIONS

1. Using an electric mixer, whip 3 cups heavy cream on low speed until it starts to thicken. Add crushed ice and continue to whip another 4 minutes. Increase speed and add vanilla and banana pudding mixes, whipping until pudding mixes are blended fully with the cream and the mixture thickens. Increase speed to high and beat until mixture is stiff.
2. Line the bottom and half way up the sides of pie crust with banana slices. Cover bananas with half of the banana cream mixture and top completely with banana slices. Top with the remaining banana cream mixture.
3. In a small bowl, whip 1 cup cream until stiff peaks form. Using a pastry bag, pipe cream onto top of pie, covering completely. Refrigerate 1 hour before serving.

BLUEBERRY CHEESE TART

I found this resepi from the web called Koleksi Resipi Pilihan Diana. Hoped to try it soon.


PASTRY (resepi chef anuar)
160g butter
80g gula castor
1 st vanilla esen
sedikit garam
1/2 biji telur
250gm tepung gandum

Cara:
1. Pukul butter bersama gula, esen vanilla, garam sehingga lembut (sekejap sahaja dan jgn sampai kembang nanti berminyak)
2. Masukkan telur dan kacau sehingga sebati
3. Masukkan tepung dan uli adunan sehingga menjadi doh. Kalau doh lembek, taruk tepung sedikit-sedikit. Doh sepatutnya lembut.
4. Tekan doh pada acuan tart.
5. dough di simpan dalam fridge selama 30 minit sebelum ditekan ke acuan...bakar 180 degree Celcius selama 15 minit. Sejukkan dan lepas tu isi fillingnya dan bakar lagi selama 10 minit. Quite easy...cuba la....


Filling for blueberry cheese tart (resepi dari 1mas2ra)
250g Philadelphia cream cheese
60g gula caster
20g butter
1 'B' egg

Blueberry filling

Cara:
Untuk filling, pukul cream cheese, gula dan butter sampai kembang, masuk telur dan pukul hingga rata.Masukkan dalam piping beg.
Picitkan cream cheese di dlm tat shell & kemudian bubuhkan 1/2 sudu kecil blueberry keatasnya.

Nota:
Jika inti keju dibakar terlalu lama, permukaannya akan menjadi retak.

Happy Father's Day

I lost my father at 9. Since then, I was ever wanting someone to be my father. At times, I wished I could create one just for show-off but magic never came true. Later I realised that I need not. Coz I found many fathers along the way. I want to wish to all my fathers, Happy Father's Day.

Dad...so many images come to mind whenever I speak your name; It seems without you in my life things have never been the same. What happened to those lazy days when I was just a child; When my life was consumed in you in your love, and in your smile. What happened to all those times when I always looked to you; No matter what happened in my life you could make my gray skies blue. Dad, some days I hear your voice and turn to see your face; Yet in my turning...it seems the sound has been erased. Dad, who will I turn to for answers when life does not make sense; Who will be there to hold me close when the pieces just don't fit. Oh, Dad, if I could turn back time and once more hear your voice; I'd tell you that out of all the dads you would still be my choice. Please always know I love you and no one can take your place; Years may come and go but your memory will never be erased. Today, Jesus, as You are listening in your home above; Would you go and find my dad and give him all my love.

Billion Tree Campaign

I am intrigue when I heard about the Billion Tree Campaign. It is actually about a tree planting programme by the UNEP. I have more news here.

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has launched a major worldwide tree planting campaign. Under the Plant for the Planet: Billion Tree Campaign, people, communities, business and industry, civil society organizations and governments are encouraged to enter tree planting pledges online with the objective of planting at least one billion trees worldwide during 2007.

"We have but a short time to avert damaging and economically debilitating climate change. The solutions are numerous and, as many economists say, affordable when compared with the costs of complacency. The goods and services provided by forests are worth billions if not trillions of dollars to the global economy. Forests are natural and economically important ‘sinks’, sequestrating carbon from the atmosphere and locking it away in trunks and branches. Globally, forest cover is at least one-third less than what it once was. It is time to reverse the trends, it is time to act."
