Peanut Butter Cookies

225g butter, softened
2tbsp smooth peanut butter
115g icing sugar
50g cornflour
225g all purpose flour
115g unslated peanuts (I used almond nibs)

Methods: Put the butter and peanut butter in a bowl and beat together. Add the icing sugar, cornflour and all purpose flour and mix together to make a soft dough. Preheat the oven to 180C. Lightly oil two baking trays. Roll the mixture into 25 small balls, using your hands and place on the baking trays. Leave plenty of room for the cookies to spread. Press the tops of the balls of dough flat, using either the back of a fork or your fingertips. Press a few of the peanuts into each of the cookies. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until lightly browned. Leave to cool for a few minutes before lifting them carefully on to a wire rack with a palette knife.

How to Tie a Tie

Dear Mady and Wa-e,
I found this site concerning ties. You have been asking me how to tie a tie. Well here is the answer.

Tying a Necktie: Four-in-Hand Knot

Tying a Necktie: The Four-in-Hand Knot is the most popular type of necktie knot and easiest to learn, probably over 80% of tie wearers knot their ties with this. The knot is long and straight but slightly lopsided.

Tying a Necktie Four-in-Hand Knot

1. Begin with the wide end on your right and extending about a foot below the narrow end of your tie. (Pictures are mirror images, in other words images are what you would see if you were looking in a mirror.)

2. Bring the wide end of the tie over the narrow (right side to left side).

3. Bring the wide end underneath the narrow end (left side to right side).

4. Bring the wide end of the tie over the narrow again (right side to left side).

5. Bring the wide end of the tie through the back of the loop (left side to center).

6. Hold the front of the knot loose with your index finger; pass the wide end down through the loop (created in step 4) in front.

7. Remove your finger and tighten the knot.

8. Hold the narrow end of the tie and slide the knot up to the collar.

Central Market Gathering with Rose, Azah and family

Just a short meeting during the weekend to enjoy each other company.

Azah is all grown up and studying Mass Communication at UiTM Melaka. Congratulations!
Rose looks lovely and lively too. 2 of her nephews are a bit quiet maybe because of the fasting. Hope to see more of each other soon.

Supper with "Putu Mayam" at Lorong Bonus Kuala Lumpur

We had Putu Mayam with extra brown sugar and coconut at Lorong Bonus nearby to the famous Masjid India. We had the teh tarik and Imogen had teh-o-limau panas. After supper, we took a train back to Bandar Tasik Selatan station.

"Buka Puasa" with Imogen at Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman KL

The boys and I have a long tradition to break our fast at Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman at least once every year. But this time it is more special because we could share it with Imogen. Fahme could not join us this time because he has to supervise his office moving to KL Sentral.

Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, Kuala Lumpur is one of the popular shopping areas of Kuala Lumpur. This shopping area is famous for its dazzling and glittering shops. Locals as well as tourists come to this area for shopping.

This shopping area of Kuala Lumpur has many pre-war buildings whose rustic facades are conserved to accommodate many contemporary retailing businesses. In this shopping area you can truly enjoy the shopping and the cultural experience that was prevalent many decades ago.
The shops of the Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, Kuala Lumpur offers items like fabrics and textiles, imported leather goods, bags and luggage, carpets, and winter clothing.

In every Saturday from 5.00 pm to 10.00 pm, this area is transformed into a night market where the businessmen sell variety of goods in the outdoors. In this market you can purchase some casual attire or some local items from this market. Moreover you can purchase those goods at reasonable price. During the fasting month, there are many stalls selling Hari Raya preparatin goods including kuih, clothes and batik. We browse swiftly after breaking our fast.

I bought 2 pairs of "butang baju melayu".

Imogen had a great time and she is willing to try with different kind of food as long as it is not hot.

Sri Mahamariamman Temple, Kuala Lumpur

Imogen and I visited the Sri Mahamariamman Temple last week.

Founded in 1873, the Sri Mahamariamman Temple is the oldest Hindu temple in Kuala Lumpur. It is situated at edge of Chinatown in Jalan Bandar (formerly High Street). In 1968, a new structure was built, featuring the ornate 'Raja Gopuram' tower in the style of South Indian temples. From its inception, the temple provided an important place of worship for early Indian immigrants and is now an important cultural and national heritage.
